RICKENBACKER 75TH ANNIVERSARY 700S SHASTA JUMBO 12-STRING
This was Studio California's very first Rickenbacker acoustic project. It was completed especially for the Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary celebration in August, 2006, where it was used in the acoustic concert at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, California. It was played by both Paul Kantner and Marty Willson-Piper that evening; Marty with a delicate touch that yielded sparkling notes scattered in the still air of a dark stage, and Paul, with a fierce aggression and brutal attack.
The instrument held up well and gave as it got. It's still in the Rickenbacker factory collection and has been played in their house band, Hautewerk, since it returned from the celebration.
Note the gold acrylic "Teardrop" pick guard--now a Studio California trademark--the gold armrest panel, and the special gold and platinum Rickenbacker nameplate on the headstock.
