RESTOMODDED 620 vs. ORIGINAL '68 625
An original, "under the bed" Rickenbacker 625, alongside an '80s 620 that was modded by Studio California in the spirit of the 1968 guitar. The '80s redo involved an authentic orangey Fireglo burst and full-width crushed mother-of-pearl fretboard markers. A full modification project would have also included narrowing the headstock to remove the "boat paddle" look, and replacing the '80s Hi-Gain pickups with toaster pickups and the heavy Grover tuning machines with vintage-style Kluson units.
