This project was taken on as a challenge to build something quite different from Studio California's usual diet of Rickenbacker builds and rebuilds. Fenders have been our second love since the early 1960s. This concept evolved into a "Gentleman's Rock 'n' Roll Guitar", with active sensor pickups, a Floyd Rose dive bomber vibrato, and a 25.5" full-scale neck, instead of the Duo-Sonic's 22.5" short scale. The guitar and fretboard are '60's Sherwood Green with Studio California's special $440.00/gallon clear coat. The custom pick guard is handmade from acrylic with a radiused and polished edge, painted on the back (second surface) to give a very elegant jewel-like quality to the edge reflections. Accents are genuine green abalone.
Yes, Floyd Rose/elegant/gentleman... strange to see those terms coexisting on one instrument! Let's just say, "unique".
