1960 360 F BODY 6-STRING IN GREENGLO

One of a matching pair of 6- and 12-string 1960 “F” bodied Rickenbackers in matching Greenglo.

This was an original and complete, but trashed, Mapleglo guitar. It had been re-bound in mahogany strips and the back of the neck had been patched with a piece of mahogany after repairing a headstock crack. Additionally, a previous refinish had been done in alkyd (floor) varnish, brushed on over a brownish maple stain, resulting in an uneven color.

This guitar received a new neck and fretboard with newly-poured triangular fret markers, and a new top, due to some previous butchering and a crack at the bottom of the sound hole. The back was stripped and found to be in good condition. Surprisingly, there were no cracks at either end of the bandsaw- cut side halves—a common issue with these instruments.

New binding and checkerboard and new gold plastic were added (this one has checkerboard both top and back), and new tuners and oven knobs were also added. Hardware items like the pickup covers and trapeze tailpiece were replated to highest standard by a local plating shop.
