2003 360/6 IN AQUAGLO WITH CHECKERBOARD BACK PURFLING

This is a fairly straightforward refinish of a Mapleglo 360 six-string. It does, however, sport some tasty additions that definitely set it apart from the herd of Rickenbacker 360 guitars. Of course, there’s the Aquaglo finish: pale transparent Aqua, shaded in a deeper shade of pearlescent Aqua. The back binding was removed and the back routed to accept a band of “checkerboard” profiling, and was then re-bound in white celluloid. Next, the fretboard markers were removed and replaced with crushed mother of pearl embedded in transparent resin. Finally, the pick guards were remade in clear acrylic which was back-painted in Frost Blue Pearl.

The end result is a subtle but unmistakably classic and timeless one-of-a-kind instrument.
